Urgent Care Clinic opens in Hobart

by Brighton Council

Did you know there is now a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) in Hobart? It’s where you go when you can’t wait to see your GP but don’t need the emergency department. They provide assessment, treatment and care for urgent but non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

They can treat things like minor fractures and sprains, infections, cuts, bites, rashes, burns, gastrointestinal issues and respiratory illnesses. Medicare UCCs are bulk-billed, meaning there is no cost to patients. Appointments are not required and you can walk in and wait to be seen. The clinic is at Your Hobart Doctor, 71 Bathurst Street, Hobart and opening hours are from 4pm to 10pm, 7 days per week. This isn’t a replacement for your GP or emergency department.

To find out if a UCC is right for you, call Healthdirect on 1800 022 222 or visit www.health.tas.gov.au/rightcare. If you need emergency medical assistance call Triple Zero (000) or go to the nearest emergency department.
