Little athletes celebrating a season of success
by Brighton Council

East Derwent Little Athletics Centre recently came together to celebrate a successful season at its annual Presentation Day, with athletes, families and volunteers enjoying a memorable end-of-season gathering.
Several special awards were presented to recognise outstanding effort, sportsmanship and commitment throughout the season. The Helen Adams Award was awarded to Under 8 athlete Zoe for her dedication and enthusiasm. Darcy received the Under 13 Sportsmanship Award and Ethan was presented with the Under 15 Sportsmanship Award, both recognised for their positive attitudes and respect for others throughout the season. The prestigious President’s Award was presented to Ari, acknowledging a fantastic season and a well-rounded contribution to the club both on and off the track.
The club also recently held its Annual General Meeting, where Troy Godfrey was re-elected as President. Under his guidance, East Derwent Little Athletics has continued to grow and strengthen over recent seasons, building a supportive and inclusive environment for athletes and families alike.
The committee took the opportunity to extend heartfelt gratitude to Lyn Springer and Kat King for their outstanding dedication and long-standing service to the committee. Their valuable insights, commitment and passion for the club have played an important role in the growth of East Derwent, and their ongoing involvement in different roles around the club will be felt for years to come.
With the season now concluded, East Derwent Little Athletics looks forward to welcoming new and returning families when the season re-opens in September. Community members are encouraged to keep an eye on the club’s Facebook page for further information closer to the start of the season.
