More than 12,000 southern Tasmanians took part in the 2025 Garage Sale Trail, helping keep over 47,000 quality items out of landfill while generating more than $429,000 for the local community. The two weekends of community garage sales saw residents across the region buy, sell and reuse secondhand goods, supporting both household budgets and sustainability efforts. The event continues to grow in popularity as more people embrace circular economy practices and look for ways to reduce waste through reuse and recycling.
