Brighton food relief organisations receive $10,000 in funding

The Brighton Community Food Hub and Tasmania’s Pont­ville-based Meals on Wheels will receive $5000 each in Federal government funding under the Volunteer Grants Program.

“Volunteers at Brighton Food Hub and Meals on Wheels make an enormous difference to people’s lives,” Federal Member for Lyons, Brian Mitchell, said. “These grants help ensure volun­teers are given the support they need, and can help reduce some of the costs of volunteering. Vol­unteers are the beating heart of our communities across all walks of life, including emergency ser­vices, sports clubs and charities, who deserve our thanks.”

Brighton Community Food Hub

Grants of between $1000 and $5000 were available to assist eligible not-for-profit community organisations support the efforts of their volunteers.
