A new pathway for Old Beach

by Brighton Council
Old Beach foreshore track

A new walking track is taking shape in Old Beach, with construction nearing completion between the Blackstone Drive cul-de-sac and Morrisby Road. This section of track forms part of four planned stages of nature trail that will help create a 3.2 kilometre trail connecting Stanfield Drive with the existing foreshore trail at the Old Beach Jetty.

The project follows several years of planning, investigation, and consultation, and will deliver a safe, accessible and nature-based pathway for the community. The alignment and design have been shaped by feedback from residents and stakeholders, alongside environmental, cultural heritage, safety, and amenity assessments. Once complete, the track will improve access to local public reserves and access to the River Derwent while helping to preserve the natural character of the area.
