BGH Breakers are celebrating a successful STNA winter netball season, with all three teams reaching finals and producing some outstanding results on the court. The club’s Under 15 team fought hard to secure a place in the elimination finals, while the Under 11 team progressed all the way to a preliminary final. Leading the way was the Under 13 team, which capped off a fantastic season by winning its grand final.

The strong performances across all age groups contributed to sister club AYC finishing second in the club championship standings, highlighting the strength of the wider netball program and the development opportunities available to young players.

BGH Breakers co-founder Scott Wade said the season’s success was the result of a team effort that extended well beyond the players. “We’re incredibly proud of what all three teams achieved this season,” he said. “Our players worked hard, supported one another and showed great sportsmanship throughout the year.

“None of this would be possible without the commitment of our coaches and volunteers, who give their time each week to help our players learn and grow.”

Scott also recognised the important role families play in community sport. “Our families are a huge part of the BGH Breakers community,” he said. “From getting players to training and games to cheering from the sidelines each week, their support makes a real difference.”

While trophies and finals appearances are always exciting, the club says its greatest achievement is seeing young people build confidence, develop friendships and enjoy being part of a supportive team environment.

As the winter season comes to a close, BGH Breakers is already looking forward to creating more opportunities for local children and young people through sport, including NetSetGo in Term 4.
