by Brighton Council

Peter Geard has been recognised for 50 years of service to the State Emergency Service (SES), with a reception recently held in his honour at the Brighton Bowls Club.
Peter’s service began with the Brighton Volunteer Fire Brigade and has since spanned training, emergency management and fire prevention. He is also a long-serving Brighton Councillor and active member of emergency management committees.
Mayor Leigh Gray read a tribute to Peter’s milestone at a recent Council meeting, thanking him for five decades of contribution to community safety and volunteering, and congratulating him on the achievement.
