Off the hook!
by Brighton Council
The Jordan River Adventurers had a great day out fishing recently. Deck chairs, fishing rods, bait and berley pots were loaded as the group set off for a lovely day’s fishing at the Triabunna wharf. They climbed aboard the Jordan River Services bus with member Ian Roberts behind the wheel.
The weather was perfect and the group were ready to catch that whopper! While waiting, they had time to catch up and chat about the weather, friends, politics, local news and of course, fishing.
A local came along and said, “You won’t catch any fish here – all the fish are on the other side of the bay near the old chip mill.”
So, the Jordan River Adventurers decided to hang out at the wharf till lunch time, then move over to the other side of the bay. Mario had his lunch early and was fishing while everyone else went over to the ‘Fish n’ Chip caravan’ for lunch. While they were lunching, he was catching!
The group then went over to the other side of the bay but all they caught were snags – no fish (local knowledge!). Despite this, all had a great day out.
