The Jordan River Community Theatre was founded in 2024 under the direction of John Adkins, an actor, playwright and artistic director. The group had its first production, a variety concert, in 2024 at the Brighton Civic Centre in Bridgewater. The concert was well received by an audience of over eighty patrons.

The group have developed a great sense of community and are now rehearsing four new plays to be performed at the Pontville Hall, the group’s new home, before winter.

Most of the members have had little or no previous experience on the stage, but they brought with them a willingness to have a go at something new and rewarding. If you are ready to embrace an activity which will reward you with new friends, improve your memory and discover hidden talents, then the Jordan River Community Theatre could be your stepping stone to a new and exciting activity.

Eventually the group would like to conduct acting classes and develop a cast of performers to have in rolling plays, musicals and variety shows throughout the year.
