Old beach cricket club finishes season in style

THE 2013/14 season was a good one for the Old Beach Cricket Club.

The club fielded seven junior and youth sides and five senior sides.
The club’s second team took out the SCA third grade premiership this season.

After only losing one game and finishing on top it had a good win over Sorell Cricket Club in the grand final. Sorell made 8/214 of their 50 overs with Matthew O’Brien 2/30 and Justin Cartledge 2/52 the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, Old Beach chased the target down in 39 overs with the loss of four wickets with Matthew Mason scoring 93no and winning man of the match and Captain Scott Johnson hitting a quick 49no.

The club is looking forward to next season and being in its new clubrooms which are well underway, and for the first time having proper change rooms for everyone to use.
Old Beach would like to thank the Brighton Council for all its assistance during the season and looks forward to working with the council for many seasons to come.
