Big truckin’ and ute event hits Pontville

BRIGHTON Agricultural Society’s first truck and ute competition, in conjunction with a music show, will be held at the Pontville Recreation Ground on Sunday, March 8.  As well as competition classes for all types of trucks and utes, there will be a wide range of vehicles and machinery on display.  Food and refreshments will also be available.  The Brighton Football Club will have its facilities open for those wanting some liquid refreshments with profits used in the community.

Entries for the trucks and utes will be taken from 8am till 11am on the morning of competition or you can pre-enter by contacting Trudy on 0407 356 257 or Rosie on 0400 446 252.  Entry forms can be down loaded from the web at .  Judging will begin at 12pm and presentations should start at 2.15pm.  Competition vehicles should enter the ground through the Midlands Highway gate and all others through Glen Lea Road.  Parking will be free for all spectators.

Local bands will begin at around 3pm and continue into the night under the lights at the Pontville grounds.  Bands include Wolf Brothers, The Frets, The Hilos and Skyplane and others as well as solo artists.

Entry is $10 per family, two adults, three children, $5 per adult and children under-12-year-olds are free.  Entry is through Glen Lea Road and parking is free.
