Anzac Day 11am event to be held in Remembrance Park

BRIGHTON’S ANZAC service this year will be held for the first time in Remembrance Park.

The Dawn Service will be held, as always, at Memorial Park.

The 11am service will be  followed by a traditional sports and activities day for the whole family.

The order of proceedings for the day will be:

11am service

11.20 official opening of Remembrance Park

11.30 – 2pm activities and traditional sport day events.

There will be ribbons for first second and third places with the Lions Club preparing a barbecue for guests.

Girl Guides will be assisting with the day, along with involved by the Scouts.

All local schools are being contacted to see if they would like to participate in the service in some way.

In past years schools that have participated have included Brighton Primary St Paul’s, Northern Christian School and Jordan River Learning Federation Senior school.

The PCYC will be in attendance with its mobile activity centre and it is hoped to provide a free bus service from Bridgewater to Brighton.

Families will be urged to pack a picnic to bring along to the event to enjoy the day.
