Driving for Jobs program, which is running in the Year 11/12 program at Jordan River Learning Federation Senior School, has been busy from day one this year.
The enthusiasm and motivation shown by students to participate in driving lessons, is outstanding.
We have seen a significant number of students in years 11, 12 and 13 booking in for L1 assessments. The enthusiasm and motivation shown by students to participate in driving lessons, which began in early February with local driving school Ls2Ps, is outstanding. By Wednesday February 20, we had seen nine students pass their L1 assessment and 12 students have had at least one lesson. One student has passed their L2 assessment and seven are preparing for assessment in the next month. Many of these students passed their L1 assessment in late 2018 through the program when they were in year 10.
Student J passed their L1 assessment and their pride was palpable: “I thought I would get some wrong and was a bit shy to do it but now I can’t believe I’ve done it and passed! I can’t believe I’ve done that!”
