Libs snub requests for TasWater responses

BRIGHTON Council’s request for the views of local MPs on the proposed State Government takeover of TasWater has been ignored by Liberal Members in Lyons.

Ratepayers face prospect of theft of their assets

TASMANIANS are currently confronted by the prospect of a robbery of public assets of unprecedented proportions, fuelled by political ambition with the prospect that the proceeds of that robbery will be paid for by Tasmanians for years to come.

‘Crisis’ claim is biggest lie

BRIGHTON Council has strongly rejected the move by Treasurer Peter Gutwein to take over Tasmania’s water and sewerage services and says the Minister is pandering to vested interests rather than looking after ordinary people.

At its March meeting, Council voted unanimously to oppose the State Government takeover of TasWater and expressed its determination to take up the fight to protect its ratepayers and community. Continue reading “‘Crisis’ claim is biggest lie”
