BRIGHTON councillors and senior staff recently joined together to conduct a strategic planning workshop to establish a comprehensive agenda for the future.
Mayor Tony Foster discusses the workshop in this edition of Brighton Community News. There will be a full report in next month’s issue of the newspaper once the draft is considered and adopted by Council at its April meeting. The updated strategic plan will then be presented for public consultation and published on the Brighton Council website.
As well as the strategic plan focusing on key areas of Council policy and development for the future, the workshop also looked at a strategic financial plan and Council’s asset plan to gain maximum value from Brighton’s buildings, property, equipment and capital.
Mayor Foster said the workshop was a valuable exercise and enabled the Council and its management to establish a clear direction for the future.
“The important outcome is that we are all on the same page and united in our effort to get the best outcome for ratepayers and the Brighton community,” Cr Foster said.
