PLANNING for a traditional Christmas Parade is well underway. The parade will be held on Saturday December 10 at 12 noon and will make its way from Covehill Shopping Centre, along Hurst Street to the Civic Centre in Green Point Road.Prizes for best school float, best community float and best overall float will be on the line so if your community group, school or business wants to have a float in the parade you can find out more from Sheryl Rainbird at Centacare Evolve on 0418 368 418.
The Brighton Alive Network of local service providers has already been meeting for months to plan this event which has been supported through grant funding by Brighton Council.
The day will be a great way for the Brighton community to celebrate Christmas with the parade to kick it off, followed by a community Christmas Party at the Civic Centre, and to finish it all off the annual Christmas Carols will be held at Thompson Oval, Pontville from 7.30pm on that day.
It should be a wonderful day, you can come along to one event or all three, but mark the date in your diary now as it is always a busy time of year.
